LODGING SURVEY NEW
We need to report our use of lodgings to our various tourist bureaus in order for them to meet state reporting requirements.
Note: If you don’t have it with you, you will be asked to complete one at that time. Doing it in advance will save you a lot of time when you get here. OPENING CEREMONIES We are trying something new (for us) this year. As usual, we have a soloist to sing the National Anthem at the Opening Ceremonies. We would also like to have one member of each team join our “choir director” in making this a little more special. There will be little or no time for rehearsal, so please choose someone who can sing. We may try to get them together on the assembly field for a couple of minutes prior to the teams’ entrance. Once they all know what and where, the singers should march in with their teams and then peel off at the west end of the grandstands to await their grand entrance. We will also be asking at least one member of our host teams to march in with each visiting team as another small token of our appreciation to you for being here. This will be handled in the assembly area. POOL PLAY
Each pool play game will count towards who you will play in the double-elimination portion of the tourney. All games, pool play and double-elimination games will go by the ASA Rule Book. In other words, you can not bat everyone or have unlimited substitutions.
If possible, we will try to protect teams within a pool from playing other teams within their Region or Association.
Pool Play Procedures:
In pools of four teams, a draw will be made to determine which teams play each other in their first game. The winners of each of the first games in a pool shall play each other with the winner being declared the Number 1 seed in the pool and the loser being declared the Number 2 seed. The losers of the first games in a pool shall play each other with the winner being declared the Number 3 seed and the loser being declared the Number 4 seed.
In pools of three teams, teams shall play the other teams once each. Ties in three team pools shall be settled by:
01. Won – Loss records
02. If a tie exists, teams shall be ranked according to which team won in head to head competition.
03. If a tie still exists, teams shall be ranked according to the fewest runs allowed per game played.
04. If a tie still exists, teams shall be ranked according to most runs scored per game played.
